Project Play: Harlem Huddle

  • Mount Sinai Medical Center 1425 Madison Avenue New York, NY, 10029 United States (map)

On January 23, 2018 the Aspen Institute convened local leaders, community members and youth at the Project Play: Harlem Huddle to discuss ways the community can work together to grow the quality and quantity of sport options for East Harlem youth. We were honored to host U.S. Representative Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) as keynote.

Participants of the Huddle received a draft of State of Play: Harlem, a forthcoming report that includes results from a survey we conducted of more than 1,500 local youth. Through out the day workshop sessions brought attendees together to brainstorm solutions for a path forward based on our report findings

For more information about how to get involved, email Ranya Bautista. Check-out photos from the Project Play: Harlem Huddle on our Photos page or on Twitter at #ProjectPlayHarlem.

Special thank you to Congressman Espaillat, our partners, Mount Sinai Health System, Harris Family Charitable Foundation, and Laurie M. Tisch Illumination Fund, and all those who participated.
